Jardin des Tuileries, Paris

It was hot summer’s day in Paris. I was walking around in the heat and found a spot to stop and wait in the part shade. I love trees and love leading lines. I needed a person or living thing to be in my frame. I waited and waited. A lot of people came by but it wasn’t the right moment. Then I saw this girl walking towards me and it looked like she was going to cross the path. I looked down at my Hasselblad and waited for the right moment. It must have been almost an hour before I clicked the shutter. I only had one shot. Then I had an ice cream.

Coney Island bird

I saw this man sunbaking on the beach but I needed something else in the frame. There were some birds flying around so I waited patiently for at least one to fly into my frame. Click.

Adrian’s Monday Starter : 4

What I’m reading: Barracuda by Christos Tsiolkas.

What I’m watching: The Expanse on Netflix. I’ve just seen one episode so far.

What I’m listening to: The soundtrack to “Nocturnal Animals”. Good editing music. It’s a tad intense.

Go see: Arrival the movie. The light is beautiful and the story is thoughtfully cerebral. I was taken away. It may not be showing in theatres anymore as it came out a month or so ago.

NYC

I need to revisit the photos I took when I was in New York City a few years ago. This one is a fave. It started to rain and I was standing against a building to keep dry when this lady stopped in front of me to take a photo of the Flatiron building. The yellow truck is a great backdrop.
